ACCESS STATEMENT

At Polmanter Touring Park we strive to make our facilities as accessible as possible for our guests. An information booklet is issued on arrival which contains details of Park facilities and emergency contact telephone numbers.

Our Reception has ramped access and our staff will be pleased to help with further information you may require to make your stay with us as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

ARRIVALS: On arrival at Polmanter, we ask visitors to park in our ‘late arrivals’ field and walk approximately 200m to reception to check in.
Those with mobility issues, for whom this might be a challenge, are welcome to use the parking area directly behind reception.
After check-in, there is space on each pitch for one car to be parked.

The park is spread over seven meadows with grass and hard-standing pitches on both tarmac and gravel.
Most pitches are level, some are slightly sloping. Please let us know of any special requirements regarding your pitch at the time of booking.
Roadways are tarmac or hardcore with speed bumps. Road ways are lit by low level lighting and the speed limit for all vehicles is strictly 5 mph.

The three amenity buildings are located in Levant, Consols and Morvah meadows. The Morvah and Levant buildings both have level or ramped access and both have dedicated disabled suites. The Consols building has level access on the northern side with access from the western side via 6 steps.
There is level access to the Laundry Room which is situated opposite the Stable Bar and Restaurant.

Baby bathrooms and family shower rooms can be found in the Levant and Consols amenity buildings. Each have either level or ramped access.

There are parking spaces opposite the shop and reception buildings and access to both is level. The shop has ramped access with handrails.

We welcome hearing and assistance dogs (Maximum of two per pitch), as well as other well behaved dogs. A large dedicated dog exercise area with free runs is provided, in addition to many dog-friendly local walks that our reception staff will be happy to advise on.

In general, we do not have problems with network signals for mobile phones. Public Wireless Internet Access is available at Polmanter. Further details can be found at Reception.

The swimming pool and children’s paddling pool are enclosed for safety, and accessible by a gate at the southern end. There are 2 steps to access the pool itself. Staff are happy to provide assistance to access this area if required.

The Games Room is situated above the Takeaway and access is via 13 granite steps. Regrettably, there is no alternative level access.

The younger children’s play area in Geevor meadow is fenced from the road, with level access. Access to the hard tennis courts is from Geevor meadow and the older children’s play area is also accessed from Geevor by a hard-core and grass roadway.

Parking in St Ives can be difficult, especially during the peak summer period. The high season bus service from the park runs hourly (there is a limited service out of high season) throughout the day and evening, with a break in the middle of the day, and takes dogs, pushchairs and surfboards. Unfortunately, the bus is not able to take wheelchairs.
Telephone numbers of local taxi companies with wheelchair friendly vehicles can be found at Reception. A bus service from outside the Halsetown Inn (approx 0.5 miles from the park entrance) connects with both St Ives and Penzance. Timetables of all bus services can be found at Reception

Our park is well signposted from the B3311. We strongly recommend that you follow our own directions, and do not follow SatNav/Route planner advice, as they often suggest a narrower / more congested route!.

Dementia Friendly Communities

Our staff have had training to ensure that they aware of the challenges that may face customers with disabilities or specific needs. We have also undertaken Dementia Friendly training to promote a greater understanding of dementia and some of the ways we can help people living with the condition during their stay with us.
